Your right under California law
California Insurance Code §758.5 prohibits Farmers from requiring you to use their Guaranteed Repair Program (GRP) shops. They can recommend preferred vendors, but they cannot mandate them or reduce your payout for going independent. Your right to choose is protected by state law.
