Farmers' Choice Repair program is optional, not required. California law protects your right to use any licensed shop. We handle Farmers claims directly — estimate, authorization, billing. You pay your deductible.
Your right under California law
California Insurance Code §758.5 prohibits Farmers from requiring you to use their Choice Repair shops. They can recommend preferred vendors, but they cannot mandate them or reduce your payout for going independent. Your right to choose is protected by state law.
