Your right under California law
California Insurance Code §758.5 prohibits USAA from requiring you to use their preferred repair shops. USAA can suggest shops, but they cannot mandate them, penalize you, or reduce your payout for choosing an independent shop. This protection applies to all California policyholders regardless of military status.

We contact USAA directly
We work with your USAA adjuster, submit documentation, and get repair authorization.
We do the repair
Once USAA authorizes the estimate, we order parts and schedule. We don't start without approval.
USAA pays us directly
USAA issues payment to us in most cases. Your out-of-pocket is your deductible.
